Gold Coast YMCA Family Day Care offers professional, quality, home based child care throughout the Gold Coast. The area covered by the Scheme includes north to the Coomera River and south to the New South Wales border.

The Scheme is sponsored by YMCA of Brisbane and works from the basis of the YMCA Mission Statement.

Family Day Care is offered from a carer's home. It is a flexible model of child care, often helping parents working outside normal hours. The Scheme operates all year round, 24 hours per day.

Care is monitored by a qualified, professional Co-ordination team operating from our office in Carrara. Co-ordinators monitor and support carers through regular unannounced visiting to their homes. Each home undergoes a rigorous safety inspection prior to approval, and on an ongoing basis.

On these visits, the Co-ordinators ensure that carers are meeting all requirements pertaining to the Queensland Child Care Act 2002, Queensland Child Care Regulation 2003, Commonwealth Accountability Requirements and Gold Coast YMCA Family Day Care Policies.

All Family Day Care schemes are required to participate in Family Day Care Quality Assurance (FDCQA) facilitated by the National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC). We are pleased to announce that our scheme achieved the Highest Quality Rating in Quality Assurance 2003. Gold Coast YMCA Family Day Care has welcomed FDCQA and continues to strive for excellence in our field.

How do i apply for care?
If you are requiring care, an application must be made to the Scheme office. This can be done by the following:

Once your application is received, the Co-ordinator will endeavour to make the best possible placement to suit your needs in the area you are requiring. If at first a placement cannot be made, your application will be retained on the Scheme 'Request for Care' list.

Before care can commence, you will be asked to visit with the carer to ensure that the placement is suitable to yourself and your child. The carer will show you around the care area and will also have questions to assist them to provide the best possible care for your child. Please feel to ask the carer for information about her service. After this process, it is essential that you contact the office to inform the Co-ordinator whether you will be commencing care, and to also make an appointment to complete an enrolment package.

Please note that enrolment packages are to be completed with a co-ordinator, usually at our office in Carrara.
